"I just wish I had JOINED SOONER!"

Name: Adjoa
Age: 33
Start weight: 161lbs
End/Current weight: 139lbs
1 - Tell me about your previous dieting attempts.
I never really had an issue with my weight until I fell pregnant with my kids.
I first started Weight Watchers; what a waste of my money!
Then I decided to try slimming world.
Another waste of my money.
I am no nutritionist, but I just knew that what they asked you to do was wrong.
The worst diet was the keto diet. I teach food and nutrition, and the fat the diet asked you to eat was way above the recommended amount for an adult my age.
Although I lost weight, I knew it was not sustainable. I just knew it was an unhealthy lifestyle. I'm so happy that I stopped; it only lasted a month. (a long month of damage)
2 - What was it that you were hoping Munro was going to do for you?
I was looking for something sustainable. I had been told at work that I was fat. (I know, right, not very kind).
For the first time in my adult life, I broke down and didn't like the girl I saw in the mirror.
My doctors had also told me if I did not go back to my pre-pregnancy weight, the likelihood of getting diabetes was high. (I had gestational diabetes in both pregnancies)
I wanted a better way to lose weight. Something sustainable that would allow me to enjoy the foods I liked and not feel like I was being restricted.
I wanted structure and guidance. I wanted something not sugarcoated. I needed something realistic. Something that said losing weight comes with time and progress, and having the right mindset will lead to a healthy lifestyle.
3 - How did you hear about Munro?
I heard about Munro through Instagram
During my research, I looked at different weight-loss accounts. One day Munro came up, so I clicked on it and spent a couple of hours reading and seeing what it was all about.
I had also seen a few posts on friends' pages.
4 - What was it about us that stood out from the other options you had available to you?
It seemed sustainable and structured, exactly what I was looking for.
I read a transformation story and could see how realistic it was.
It did not seem to me as one of those "I promise you will lose weight in two days after following this plan" (That's how some diets sell themselves.)
I love the Facebook aspect and being part of a like-minded group encouraging and supporting you. The price appealed to me too. It seemed very reasonable.
5 - What was it about what we do that made you bite the bullet and sign up?
Honestly, I thought to myself, " What have I got to lose?".
I had wasted a lot of money on different diets and liked the approach after stalking the Instagram accounts for a while.
I was ready to live a healthy lifestyle, to be able to play with my kids and to be around for them. I was ready for good habits.
6 - What made you happiest about being a member of Clan Munro?
Where do I start? I may need ten pages for this!
I started implementing everything in August. From August to December, I dropped from 161 lbs to 150 lbs.
I bought a size ten dress for a Christmas party that fitted like a glove. I felt extremely sexy that day.
One thing I absolutely love is the no-BS approach.
I will read posts where people are worried or struggling, and the words of encouragement are amazing.
I love that it was never, "oh, you had a bad week; let's sugarcoat it and move on".
Instead, it was "what are some of the things we can change or tweak to improve your week" to help you get out of those bad habits you may have.
It is the complete mindset about your relationship with food. Foods that other diets will classify as "syns". There's none of that here.
If you want to eat a chocolate cake, you can have it.
If you go above your calories, it's okay.
Jason's stories and replies to questions on Instagram and continuous education.
I am so much happier! I feel so much happier. My clothes fit. I have more energy, and I love learning.
7 - What have you been able to achieve since becoming a member of the Clan?
I have been able to lose weight and keep it off. I feel much happier within myself; I feel healthy. I have a good relationship with food. I am not scared to eat any food.
8 - What has exceeded your expectations since working with us?
The fact that I still enjoy all the foods I want and still lose weight. I enjoy exercising even if the goal is not to lose weight.
I can push myself and achieve things. I love the NSV victories.
9 - What's the main reason you would recommend us to others?
Firstly, to do with your mindset and the relationship with food.
You can lose weight and keep it off and do something about it if you put some of the weight back on. I have lost 22 lbs with Munro, and it has been in a healthy way.
A way I never thought could be achieved. And that is why I would recommend it to anyone. It didn't go on overnight, so it will take time to come off.
Learning, a change of mindset, your relationship with food and most of all, the importance of planning.
Nothing that is off-limit. If you have a busy life, you can still manage it with a little organisation.
TRUST the process because the rewards and results will AMAZE you!
10 - Was there anything about Munro Fitness that surprised you the most?
How supportive and encouraging the group is. The advice that is given, the talks, all the information.
11 - What would you tell someone thinking about joining us?
What are you waiting for? Do it!!
It's supportive, friendly, and full of advice; there is never any judgment. You will never regret getting started, but you'll regret not getting started.
12 - Is there anything we could do differently to improve for future members?
No…… can't think of anything. I just wish I had joined sooner.
13 - How confident are you that you can now take everything you've learned during your time with us to go on and maintain the results you've achieved?
I am 100% confident that I can do it.
I have learnt so much and still learning. I know and can see if I need to do something differently.
I know where to make the changes.
I have learnt so much over the past year that I refuse to let that go to waste. I want to be there for my kids to spend all the big moments in their life with them.
Being healthy is essential to me.
14 - Is there anything else you'd like to say about us or your time with us?
I have loved every bit of my journey.
Every time the number went down on the scale, celebrating NSV. I just completely LOVED everything about Munro. It has changed my life for the better.
So, thank you and keep doing what you do because you have changed many lives, including mine.
