Amy finds food FREEDOM with Munro

End/Current weight: 161lbs
1 - Tell me about your previous dieting attempts.
I've been a serial yo-yo'er for my entire adult life.
Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Herbalife, weird and wacky grapefruit/coffee combinations...
You name it; I've tried it!
My life with Slimming World left me with some serious issues with portion control and a view of life being all about good/bad foods!
How is it possible that mashing a banana takes it from being "good" to "bad"?
2 - What was it you hoped The Munro Method would do for you?
Before working with Munro, I had had a bad back injury, and I was in serious need of taking care of myself.
I was aware of what a calorie deficit was but didn't pay attention to the nutritional value of what I was eating.
I wanted to feel healthier and more content with my weight. I wanted to understand what my body should be having. It wasn't about losing a lot of weight;
I just wanted to learn how to stop chasing this same stone and a half up and down year after year!
3 - How did you hear about us??
Munro was recommended to me by a friend, and I started to follow your Insta – after a couple of weeks of snooping, I signed up for the 1-2-1 Group Membership.
4 - What was it about us that stood out from other available options?
I like a no-nonsense approach!
I found myself agreeing with Instagram posts and becoming increasingly interested in the 'science' behind fat loss... something that I've never really known about or taken time to understand.
5 - What did you enjoy most about being a Clan Munro member?
I loved the video replies for feedback!
They (check ins) made me feel like my efforts were valued. I became more aware of why my weight fluctuated.
Over the weeks/months, more things became a habit and intuitive. I was able to enjoy meals out and switch off without guilt, and that was very important to me.
6 - What have you been able to achieve since become a member of the Clan?
I definitely have a much healthier relationship with food!!!
I enjoy cooking and eating.... there's no need to be restrictive with my food – I have realised that with a bit of planning and adjusting, I can find a balance between managing a healthy weight without counting calories.
I had a light bulb moment around Christmas time when I realised that putting on a few pounds at the festive season is pretty standard and shouldn't be viewed as a failure that needs to be feared or punished.
7 - What has exceeded your expectations since working with us?
Improving my relationship with food has helped to support my mental health – I have been trying to be more patient with myself and make time to switch off and practise self-care (something I'm not good at!).
Improving my relationship with food and losing some body fat has improved my confidence and overall well-being.
8 - Why would you recommend us to others?
Joining Munro isn't an easy, quick fix (if it were, it would just be one more failed diet to add to your lengthy diet history!), but the benefits you find along the way are invaluable and will be with you for a lifetime!!!
9 - Was there anything about Munro that surprised you?
That I had a fair bit of knowledge but wasn't very good at putting them into practice!!!
Munro gave me the support to form new habits that will stick with me forever.
10 - What advice would you give someone thinking about joining us?
Don't think about it, just do it!
11 - How confident are you that you can now take everything you've learned during your time with us to go on and maintain the results you've achieved?
I think I've recognised that maintenance was the scary bit for me!
I even stayed in the Group for a few months without posting info because I didn't want to jinx it!
After a good few months of that 'safety net,' I'm now ready to go it alone. I will continue to follow the principles I've learned and follow along through Instagram/podcasts as I know that all of the advice and guidance will continue to be relevant and support me as a previous yo-yo'er.
12 - Is there anything else you'd like to add about your time with us?
Just a thank you!!!
am no expert with these things, but I feel happier and healthier and love the freedom I've found through joining Munro
